Our Values

The Game of Complexity

  1. Play without purpose, let joy be the signal, even the joy of stillness.
  2. Explore the edges, walk the edge of chaos.
  3. Question your certainties, especially the comfortable ones.
  4. Embrace hypocrisy and the absurd, it's the essence of being human.
  5. Reach for the fuzzy conclusion, focus on what truly matters to you.
  6. Steer toward the Wandering Ideal, build toward something larger than yourself.
  7. Beware unintended consequences, they hide in the shadows of certainty.
  8. Spot the opportunity and leap with courage, it keeps your motivation alive.
  9. Act with conviction and courage when the stakes become clear.

The Eleven Vows of Complexity

I will try my best to forgive my hypocrisies,
and to forgive myself so I may forgive others.

I will try my best to tolerate the intolerant.

I will try my best to dwell in perspectives other than my own.

I will try my best to be curious, respect privacy, and celebrate variety.

I will try my best to love my enemy,
knowing that in doing so I come to know myself.

I will try my best to imagine a better world.

I will try my best to venerate the mystery of the mundane.

I will try my best to bestride the edge of chaos.

I strive to be a better guardian of the web of Life.

I know that to act is to be wrong,
and I will act anyway, to survive.

I hereby vow to take nothing seriously,
especially myself.

The Seven Deadly Sins

Entwiners play with the 7 deadly sins.
They are contextual. Practice them mindfully.
Each is a blend of black and white.
They are dynamite!

Earnestness (Sinceritas): the unquestioning devotion to rules one had no part in writing.

Rules have two aims, to keep the peace and to make you subserviant.

Certainty (Certitudo): the refusal to doubt what one has been told is true.

Awkward questions are the best questions.

Entitlement (Praesumptio): the belief that one deserves more than one's station permits.

Self imposed limits form the highest prison walls.

Patience (Patientia): the endless willingness to wait for a turn that never arrives.

Doing nothing, changes nothing; squashed butterflys.

Modesty (Modestia): the hiding of one's light so as not to disturb the comfortable.

Why the hell is anyone else light better than yours.

Moderation (Temperantia): the flattening of all passion into the acceptable middle ground.

Docile sheep are good for shepherds.

Generosity (Largitas): the free surrender of one's labour, time, and ideas for another's gain.

Is the generosity a one-way street? Riches to the rich?

Note: These are all blessings when applied in the service of the League (Honest, Guv!)
